A string buffer overflow in Samba 2.2.8 has been discovered. This vulnerability already has an exploit in the wild, so it is vital that you upgrade ASAP. Samba 2.2.8a is available and contains a fix for this vulnerability.

I'll note that there was only a 4 day lag between the Samba team being notified of the bug and it being fixed today. Woo to open source software.
